WHY IS PUPPY SOCIALISATION AND TRAINING IMPORTANT?

Lack of socialisation is a major reason for the development of stress and fear responses in dogs. Fear can also lead to aggression. If your dog is fearful or stressed you may also find yourself restricted as to where you can take it for exercise and on family days out.

Your puppy is learning all the time. Early basic training with kind methods can help prevent  problem behaviour. Class training aids socialising and helps you teach the pup to behave when other dogs and people are nearby.

Puppy classes should:

use only modern training methods

be small and designed just for young puppies

include only puppies, not “teenage” or adult dogs

Always check that the trainer belongs to a recognised association and is fully insured.
